It takes more than a German bombing raid to wipe the smiles off our faces.

It's 1941, and somewhere in the west of Scotland - it might Clydebank, it might be Glasgow -has just taken an overnight battering. Sadly, like most wartime photographs, no location is given (loose lips sink ships, and all that), but you can't mistake the spirit in this snap; sheer defiance.

It's a thumbs up from us too. Good to see the moggy is safe.
