It's 1965, and we've got a great view of Argyle Street, Alexander 'Greek' Thomson's Buck's Head Buildings, and the site of the new M&S store.

M&S were building on the site of the old Mann Byars warehouse, which itself had been carved out of the old Black Bull Inn, a favoured watering spot and overnight halt of Robert Burns. And, if there was no room at the inn, he could cross the road and book a bed at the old Buck's Head Hotel, which occupied the site before 'Greek' Thomson got his hands on it.
