RAC girl Eleanor Brown was the very model of elegance and poise as she rode her Vespa scooter combination in Glasgow in 1959. She's certainly getting some admiring glances from her male RAC colleagues.

Unlike the big RAC motorbike combos, which carried a full set of tools in their sidecar, for roadside repairs, the Vespa version usually carried RAC brochures and membership forms. And, one veteran of the scooters tells me that, in order to make the lop-sided combo a bit more stable, they used to have to load the wee sidecar with bricks!
