A tranquil, pre-1956 scene, up at Port Dundas, with a lone polis patrolling the quay.
How do we know it's pre-1956, because in that year the Kirkintilloch-built puffer 'Moor', right, was sent to be scrapped. Built in 1925, at 66ft long, she was then the largest vessel built at J Hay & Sons canal-side yard
The puffer moored beside her, 'Inca', was another Kirkintilloch girl. Built in 1938, she was scrapped in 1965.
