Rain, rain, go away, come again another day...

These drookit wee holidaymakers didn't let a downpour finish their fun. Splashing along the front at Ayr in the summer of 1977, anoraks and a brolly saved the day.

How much better to huddle for warmth in one of those beach huts, with dad staring at the invisible horizon, sucking his teeth, and musing: "It looks like it might be lifting..."
