Glasgow football fans had seen nothing like it when, in 1960, the European Cup final came to town The teams involved, Spain's Real Madrid, and Germany's Eintracht Frankfurt, were at the top of their games, and 127,000 fans packed Hampden to watch the action.

The match, widely regarded as one of the greatest ever played, was a goalfest from start to finish, with the Spaniards scoring 7 to the German's 3. Real's Hungarian hero Ferenc Puskas scored no fewer than four goals, with team-mate Alfredo Di Stefano adding another three.

Here we see Di Stefano slam his second past Frankfurt keeper Egon Loy.
