Beds, peever, hopscotch, whatever you call it, kids have been playing it for centuries.

Although more often associated with girls, these lads seemed happy enough to give it a go in 1973. Wonder if they were using a pebble, or a an old shoe polish tin filled with stones as their peever?

Sadly, long gone are the days when almost every pavement in the city would bear the chalk marked of the marked out beds.
