It's Fair Saturday 1953, and the concourse of Central Station is ram-jam-fu' with folk, all eager for the off. We're up at platforms one and two, so, presumably these queues of holidaymakers were heading down south for the fortnight. The Clyde coast trains usually left from the higher numbered platforms.

The clock on the left is the original Central Station timepiece. If you tried meeting under that you'd be standing behind the counter of the John Menzies' newsagent. And that extra booth in the middle of the concourse isn't helping the crush.

I daresay, after two weeks of having a 'rerr terr at the Ferr', more than a few returning passengers would be looking up at that Andrew's Liver Salts advert, and swearing off the drink.
