Weans will find fun anywhere, and that was as true in 1961 as it is today.

This tiny 'Time Team' were carrying out their own excavations on the corner of Surrey Street and Pollokshaws Road, in the Gorbals.

With tenements recently demolished, they were looking for 'luckies' amongst the rubble. Who knows what treasure - old bottletops, bits of pottery, rotting shoes - they might have unearthed. Bet their mums were delighted when they brought their mucky haul home.
